Why The Stethoscope?
The stethoscope is an iconic symbol and an extension of a medical professional day-to-day work. It is still used extensively despite the adoption of the technologically advanced ultrasound devices. There are sounds that can only be picked up by a stethoscope like wheezes from the patient’s chest area. The stethoscope is used as a point of contact between a doctor and their patient that demonstrates caregiving and is crucial to healing. As the Austics team, we realise this affinity is timeless. We have developed the cardiology stethoscope and use it as a launch pad into the medical devices industry. The cardiology stethoscope is the first offering in our forthcoming Austics Diagnostic Tools.
What’s Different About This Stethoscope?
Our stethoscope incorporates a variable frequency diaphragm for sound propagating through the PVC tubing – low and high pitched sounds are picked up. It also boasts better ergonomics and aesthetics on the chest-piece thus improving handling and grip on the chest piece. We are using a goose-neck stainless steel ear-tubing for a better comfort around the neck area.
